The Nærøyfjord area got its UNESCO’s World Heritage status in 2005.

The goal of SAKTE (SLOW) is to make it attractive to take care of natural and cultural values in order to obtain sustainable tourism. 

SAKTE (Slow) is an alliance label for food and experience products with rooting and loyalty to the World Heritage. You’ll find the alliance companies spread across the world heritage area around the Nærøyfjord and Aurlandsfjorden. This is the most popular area in Fjord Norway.

In this area you will also find the Flåm Railway, the Bergen Railway, Sognefjorden, the bike route the Navvies road, and the popular hiking area of Aurland valley.
