Steinbergdalshytta

Steinbergdalshytta

Here, guests are welcomed with warm hospitality, homemade food crafted from local and organic ingredients, and a unique setting for 'slow travel' experiences in the mountains.

The lodge offers 50 beds across 16 rooms, as well as an old stone cabin featuring its own fireplace and beds equipped with reindeer skin sleeping bags. You will find spacious lounges and rustic charm, and in our large dining hall, we gather all guests around a long table for dinner.

The atmosphere and rich history lead many guests to describe Steinbergdalshytta as a destination in itself. The area is ideal for hikes of all lengths, trout fishing, camping, trail running, and small-game hunting. In winter, the terrain is perfect for backcountry skiing, mellow ski touring, snowshoeing, and ice fishing.

Steinbergdalshytta is located roughly halfway along the hiking route between Finse and Vassbygdi, and is easily accessible by foot, car, or bus.

The lodge is open during Easter and from mid-May to mid-October. However, Steinbergdalshytta is an exciting place year-round. If you wish to experience darkness, silence, and a starry sky you had forgotten existed—or perhaps a wild storm and closed roads—you can also book a stay during the off-season by appointment."
